Sustainability
For several years now, the Université de Haute-Alsace has taken on board its responsibilities and played its role vis-à-vis the significant challenges posed by the need for sustainability and the changes which our society is undergoing. Fully seized of the need to address these and with a strong track record, UHA is redoubling its efforts with an ambitious and innovative project : the maintenance of its ISO 50001 certification through its energy management system.
ISO 50001 Certification
The University determined to seek ISO 50001 certification in order to preserve the resources which will be needed by future generations. According to the International Energy Agency, this norm could have an impact upon 60% of global energy consumption.
Numerous staff and students of the Université de Haute-Alsace are already involved and committed to improving our energy efficiency. It is in recognition of this, that in July 2014, UHA was awarded ISO 50001 certification. The Université de Haute-Alsace thus became the first French university to receive such certification !
This determined approach towards continuous improvement is ongoing and collective and requires the involvement and commitment of all. It is thanks to the commitment of each and every one of us and our daily actions in accordance with the principles of sustainability, that we will preserve our environment.
